The UAC of Vista is not optimal

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Windows Vista LogoSteven Sinofsky, vice president of Windows and Windows Live department at Microsoft acknowledges that the UAC (User Account Control) was (and still is not) not optimal and its default is to be gone too far. Also according S. Sinofsky, the reason for the establishment of the UAC was to better protect the user, and this attention is commendable, but the establishment still suffers from flaws of youth.

It is now official that Microsoft says that the UAC is too intrusive, and it is one of the elements that will be reviewed and corrected in Windows Seven. Moreover, in pre-beta version of the new operating system, there are already four levels of settings for UAC. Proof that Microsoft can also recognize and correct its errors.

Opera will not be on the iPhone

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Opera Internet Browser LogoIt’s in the New York Times we learn that Opera engineers had actually developed an iPhone version of their internet browser, but Apple has refused to validate it because it was in competition with Safari…

The irony in all this is that there are some applications that have an internal browser but have gone on the AppStore, so that does not offer a direct competition to Safari.
However, I can understand for softwares that transforms your iPhone in modem because it comes into conflict with some partnership (and still …), all there, I don’t want… Besides absolutely impose Safari, so good it may be.
