Sony updates its Vaio G with the G3

The Sony Vaio G hasn’t received much upgrade these last times to the extent that they had forgotten its existence … But now, Sony reminds us of the order, and proposes the new Vaio G, the G3.

According to the press release, 4 models will be available but nothing exceptionally well on paper … The basic model will always be equipped with a 1.2GHz processor (Core 2 Duo SU9300 1.2 GHz), an XGA LCD 12.1″ screen, 2 GB of RAM, 120GB of hard drive, and Wifi BGN …
While other models will be powered by a Core 2 Duo 1.4GHz (SU9400), 1 or 2 GB of RAM, 120 or 160 GB of hard drive or by 64GB of SSD.

Lancerlink in Japan has presented its mini projector MPJ-101 which also functions as portable media player. Basically, this LCOS projector is a clone of the 3M mini projector, with a size of 125mm x 55mm x 23mm and weighing 100 grams without battery. The price of $1,000 is quite prohibitive, as you have:

  • 10 lumens brightness
  • 1GB internal flash memory
  • Slot SD / SDHC / MMC / MS

  • Two speakers of 0.5W

Supported formats (after inserting the memory card of your choice, of course): MPEG-4 (AVI/ASF/MP4), H.264 (MP4), MotionJPEG (AVI), MP3 and JPEG. MP4/ASF/AVI. Each purchase will be accompanied by the ArcSoft Media Converter software. One wonders how is the battery life.
