GD-Itronix has introduced its GD8000 rugged laptop, which is superior to standard MIL-STD 810F of the U.S. army. The original specification required that the device is resistant to falls from a height of 90cm and start 26 times consecutively just after, GD-Itronix says that their product may fall from 15cm more. Moreover, it can operate as if nothing had happened after being doused in more than 113 liters at a speed of 64km/h for four hours non-stop. Philips has a very small part of the mobile phone market, and is known for its superior battery life. The same applies to the Xenium X700 – the last in the Xenium range has a phenomenal self standby of 720 hours and 450 minutes talk time!
