Averatec D1133 all-in-one desktop PC

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

While Dell has released its Studio One 19, Averatec will also jump on this segment with the Averatec D1133, desktop PC of 18.4″ (1680×945 resolution) all-in-One (AIO) where the price starts from $600 and that looks like a monitor stuck on a netbook … Here’s what’s inside the Averatec D1133:

  • AMD Athlon X2 1.5GHz
  • Display of 18.4″ (1680×945, 16:9) with 1.3-megapixel webcam
  • 2GB RAM, 250GB hard drive, DVD player
  • USB 2 (4), eSATA (1), Audio in/out, 10/100 Ethernet, DVI, 4-in-1 memory card reader, WIFI-G
  • GPU ATI Radeon HD 3200
  • Vista Home Basic

In general, it is less powerful than the Dell Studio One 19 and it has no touch option, but it could be “sufficient” for a basic use such as web browsing, email, and decoding of video in full screen. We prefer the design of the Studio One, and of course the iMac.

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

CyberPower announces that certain configurations are equipped with 3D glasses for NVIDIA GeForce. These glasses that can see 3D stereoscopic work on most existing games through a special driver. Buyers have a choice between Intel and AMD with respect to the processor. At the end of the string, there is a Samsung monitor (Syncmaster 2233RZ) of 22″ that displays at 120Hz. The GPU, it is a GeForce 200 Series (250 GTS). With prices that range between $1300 and $1850, do you think 3D glasses are a real selling point? We doubt about it.

You can find the XPS 435 on the Dell website, and a quick look at the specifications shows that it is a high-end desktop PC: Core i7 Extreme, powerful graphics card, Blu-Ray drive in option, to 24GB of RAM and a hard drive up to 4.5TB. It has a piano black surface on the front, white on the side and “Ferrari red” accents. The design of the interior is not great, but there is enough space for the extension and the … cooling.
