Moblin: an OS for netbooks by Intel

Posted in: Laptops, Softwares

Last week, Intel unveiled Moblin 2.0, an OS based on Fedora and for netbook running on Atom or Core 2 platforms. This is an open source project which is in its Alpha version, so very basic for the moment, but which aims to improve the battery life, reduce start-up time and make netbooks more practical. If you want to try it, you can download the Alpha version here.

This is my second netbook and am very impressed. I would be hard pressed to even come up with any negatives. I guess it could always be lighter. Everything works as it is supposed to. Aside from adding memory the only other thing I added was an external antenna booster.
