Nobody likes the noise generated by desktops, so Antec has released the Sonata Elite. It may contain seven hard drives and an equal number of expansion slots. The desktop has a steel design with two layers and a plastic panels on the side and panels above. Silicone eyelets are used to reduce vibration, while two fans of 1200mm will develop important airflows to generate less noise. Cleaning is easy with removable, washable filters. ST120: Epson boosts its compact desktop PC with a Blu-Ray drive

The Epson ST1XX series is known for offering the smaller Japanese desktop PCs of the manufacturer with a size of only 75×185x195mm. And today, Epson has announced an update to its ST120 now powered by a Core 2 Duo P8400 (2.26GHz), 1GB of RAM, 80 GB hard drive (you can “upgrade” it up to 320 GB of storage space), a GM45 Express chipset.
In any case, it seems that this mini desktop PC is designed to be the perfect HTPC through its digital TV tuner MonsterTV HDUS, HDMI output, and its Blu-Ray drive.

Faith Japan, a well-known store in Tokyo, announced the availability of its Fortission Q96500XN DVR-4S, a desktop powered by a Core 2 Quad Q9650, with an Intel motherboard P45TS chipset, 2 GB of DDR2, 500GB SATA II hard drive, an nVidia GeForce with 512MB VRAM.
This desktop has the Instant Boot S3 mode, which according to the manufacturer, permits to start from standby mode in 4 seconds. And with the S4 mode, Faith provides a startup time in 20-22 seconds.

Dell has just released its OptiPlex 160 desktop for all those who have not enough place on or around their desk for a standard desktop. It measures just 4.75 cm in thickness and has all the usual connections plus a built-in power supply but no CD / DVD drive. For a price of $560, it has the following specifications:

  • 1GB of RAM
  • Integrated Video Processor
  • Windows Vista Home Basic

Asus Eee Box desktops with HDMI

The updated models of the Eee Box desktops, named Eee Box B204 and Eee Box B206 include an HDMI connection, which is a standard for television today.
