Iomega eGo Helium external hard drive

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

The MacBook Air is incredibly thin, then there is only one portable hard drive to go with it: the Iomega eGo Helium. It has an anodized aluminum case with a thickness of only 1.6cm and weighs 200g with a USB port for the power supply (and also for data transfer, of course). It is currently a 320GB version, but hope that there will be greater capacity external hard drives. Price: $149.99.

A Lenovo laptop: The X300

Monday, November 17th, 2008

At the launch of Apple’s MacBook Air, some rumors have emerged: Lenovo would present a 13-inch laptop. On 26 February, after several weeks of sometimes of contradictory information, Lenovo announced the X300.

The Lenovo laptop very high end is comparable to two points to the MacBook Air: its price, nearly $2850, and its size: 13.3-inch. The rest is quite different and the Lenovo laptop clearly target a different audience from the laptop from Apple. However, it does not seem unrealistic to compare them.

Apple updates its MacBook Air

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

With the new MacBook and MacBook Pro, Apple took the opportunity to update its MacBook Air. As against, although nothing transcendent. In terms of changes, we can see now a 1.86 Ghz processor against 1.8 Ghz before, 128Go or 120GB SSD instead of 80GB or 64GB SSD before, the replacement of micro-DVI port by the mini DisplayPort and the change of integrated Intel video card by the Nvidia GeForce 9400M with 256MB of VRAM shared.

Still the 13.3″ LED screen with a resolution of 128×800, a single USB port and the non-integration of the new trackpad of the MacBook and MacBook Pro. Prices ranging from $1799 to $2499
