The CEO of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer confirmed in a press conference that Windows Mobile 7 will come on the market next year. The operating system will be sent to manufacturers this November. This means we will see on devices in April 2010 at the earliest. And what about Windows Mobile 6.5 in the meantime? We wonder what are the specifications required for Windows Mobile 7, and if it will provide stability and a revolutionary user experience?

Some of you probably remember, there was a time when Microsoft delivered free with its operating systems an antivirus software. Microsoft Anti-Virus (MSAV), introduced with MS-DOS 6.0, was relatively crude, but it deserves to exist.

Microsoft has since lost the habit of providing with its OS an antivirus software, leaving even for many years this market. It was not until May 2006 to see an antivirus software – not free this time – at Microsoft, Windows Live OneCare.

Microsoft should abandon it during the second quarter of 2009 for the benefit of “Morro”, an antivirus suite, and this time free. Morro, as announced necessarily lighter and efficient than Live OneCare, should be compatible with Windows XP, Vista and even the future Windows 7.

Also according S. Sinofsky, the reason for the establishment of the UAC was to better protect the user, and this attention is commendable, but the establishment still suffers from flaws of youth.

It is now official that Microsoft says that the UAC is too intrusive, and it is one of the elements that will be reviewed and corrected in Windows Seven. Moreover, in pre-beta version of the new operating system, there are already four levels of settings for UAC. Proof that Microsoft can also recognize and correct its errors.

We can therefore expect a “Device Stage”, a sort of control panel for each device connected to your PC (printer, camera, MP3 players…), allowing you to manage, to explore the content, sync, etc… It appears that the devices will be “Device Stage enabled”. It is already less funny…

Second point, the “Action Center”, a “troubleshooting center”. Need further explanation? It continues with the “StreamOn” which would manage the multimedia content on PCs and other devices, a new animated framework, like what is happening with Apple, a new taskbar, support for multi-touch and gestures, an improved management of Bluetooth, and integrated ribbons everywhere (in the way of Office). We’ll see that all tomorrow …
