Last week, Sotec (a brand of Onkyo) announced its latest 15.4-inch laptop (with a resolution of 1280 x 800), available in three different versions.

The high-end version have a Core 2 Duo P9500 at 1.53GHz, 2GB RAM, 250GB of hard drive (SATA 5400rpm), a DVD Super Multi and a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 with 256 MB VRAM.

Nothing surprising here for a laptop for a price of 149,800 yen ($1,660).

The first Blu-Ray drive of the Onkyo, after trying the adventure with the HD DVD. The DV-BD606 reveals a compatibility with Profile 1.1, BonusView, a Deep Color mode via HDMI, the Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio via HDMI or 7.1 (with a Burr-Brown quality: 192kHz/24-bit DAC). Price: around $500.

Announced last June, Onkyo has released in Japan the black version of the TX-SA706: the TX-SA706X. On the menu, still a power of 7×200W, HDMI v1.3, support for the 1080p, compatibility with all HD audio formats, Audyssey Dynamic EQ technology and DeepColor(36bit) x.v.Color., all in 17.7 kg.
