The design of the iPod Shuffle was again cooled, and it has more square shape you used to see, but now it has become rectangular. The maximum capacity has been doubled, while the wheel is gone. The lock has been accepted, and VoiceOver announces what song is played, accompanied by the artist name, and that, just by pressing a button on the earphone cable. The VoiceOver technology also allows you to call the songs from your playlist. The new iPod Shuffle will cost $80, in black or white version, and it still holds the title of “The Smallest Music Player” in the world, according to Apple.

Today, Hitachi Maxell has marketed its HP-NC20.IPS headphones. They are capable of reducing ambient noises and don’t require batteries because they use directly the iPod battery (and other compatible models). They have their own settings for the sound. The drawback, these headphones can reduce the battery standby time of the iPod up to 66%, if they are connected. Hitachi Maxell ensures that the headphones can reduce up to 20dB and it works only with the 4G iPods, 1G and 2G iPod touches. The iPhone is not supported. The Hitachi-Maxell HP-NC20.IPs headphones go on sale in Japan from December 12th. Price: $80.
