What’s the best mobile phones in the world today? After excluding the high-end mobile phones of Amosu and Vertu, we still have the iPhone or something similar. Well, sorry to upset you, but the iPhone has a serious competitor: the Lenovo Ophone. This Android smartphone with a touchscreen has been specially designed to work with the Open Mobile System of China Mobile. In other words, you will not find the Lenovo Ophone operate outside China, then hope that the guys from HTC will build and release a similar smartphone in the future.

Agora Pro: Kogan unveiled a new Android smartphone

Our Australian friends can enjoy the last Android smartphone without having to buy the G1 – it’s the Kogan Agora Pro. The Agora Pro includes the following specifications:

624MHz processor
128MB RAM
2.5-inch touchscreen
QWERTY keyboard
2-megapixel camera
Wi-Fi and 3G
GPS

The Agora Kogan Pro costs a price of $AU 399 ($US 260), but if you take the basic version (without the camera, Wi-Fi and GPS), it costs $AU 100 ($US 65) less. These smartphones will be available only from 29 January 2009.

Pro G7: A high-end smartphone by RoverPC

RoverPC is not the most known smartphones manufacturer in the world, but its new product, the Pro G7, still deserves a look.

This smartphone incorporates an 2.8-inch touchscreen (640×480), an accelerometer, a video output, two photo sensors (0.3-megapixel in front, 3-megapixel in the other side), the 3G compatibility, wifi b/g and Bluetooth, a MicroSD slot and a mini USB port, all powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 with Marvell PXA310 processor running at 624 MHz. If all this isn’t enough, the device provides optional a GPS and an FM tuner… Available in Russia to begin, starting from 475 euros ($600).

The Nokia E71 smartphone will not arrive in Japan

While DoCoMo has introduced the Nokia E71 smartphone as the next of its range for the first quarter of 2009, but the Japanese operator will not propose this smartphone. This rare and radical decision follows that because Nokia no longer continues its activities in the country of Sharp, NEC, Kyocera, … The E71 will still may be available from the competitor SoftBank which is more favorable for non-Japanese mobile phones.

Nokia introduces the Nokia N97 smartphone

Today Nokia introduced the Nokia N97:

The smartphone has a 3.5-inch touchscreen and a full QWERTY keyboard, the So-Lo (social location), a 5-megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, and also a media player and MP3 (up to 4.5 hours of video and 37 hours of audio). Specifications include:

Skyfire: The new internet browser for smartphones

Since last week, the Internet browser Skyfire is available on smartphones running Windows Mobile and Symbian. This software was previously proposed, in beta for American, Canadian and British users.

Just like Mozilla Firefox, Skyfire has a full display of Web pages. The great value of this internet browser is the support for Ajax and Flash technologies. As such, it’s entirely possible to view videos from YouTube, or Flash animation on the smartphone.

Finally, Skyfire offers to the user the possibility to save images in the storage space of the mobile phone, but you can also send URLs via SMS.

Skyfire is available for free download from your smartphone at get.skyfire.com.

i6: The smartphone with Android by Qigi

We don’t say that the G1 is the only smartphone to integrate Android… Chinese manufacturers are also on the bridge, which Qigi, which announces the new i6 smartphone.

The manufacturer offers its smartphone in two version: the “normal” i6 which starts with Android, and the i6 Win which has Windows Mobile 6.1.

For the rest, the two boarded the same components: Marvell Monohan processor running at 624 MHz, touchscreen of 2.8-inch, a 2-megapixel camera, support for the WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, a MicroSD slot but not the 3G unfortunately. No indications for a release date or price available.

IM-310: The smartphone by Pantech

Pantech has just launched its new smartphone, sold as a digital music player but with a larger gear technology, the IM-310.

This smartphone incorporates a touchscreen of 3-inch, a 2-megapixel camera, a music player and therefore dedicated keys, but also a DMB TV tuner and a MicroSD slot. This smartphone can surf on 3G networks and has a bluetooth compatibility.

This beautiful smartphone is unfortunately available only in South Korea, which is rather unfortunate because it looks very nice.

Nokia launches Lotus Notes Traveler on its Symbian S60 smartphones

Nokia and IBM have announced the compatibility of Symbian S60 smartphones of Nokia with the professional e-mail software of IBM, Lotus Notes Traveler. Lotus Notes Traveler will be available for Nokia S60 smartphones from December 2008.
